Plini

One of the hidden gems in the music industry, Plini is however, well known among his circle of musicians. Plini is a progressive rock, instrumental guitarist from Sydney, Australia. His style of music is progressive with ambience in it. Essentially a solo artist, Plini has, however collborated with a number of word class musicians such as Marco Minnemann, When asked about his influence, he cited Jimi Hendrix as one of them. Some of his works are

• Handmade Cities (I really love Cascade)
• EPs, i.e. long songs with distinctive sections, a norm in progressive music include Sweet Nothingness, End of Everything. Usually Plini alternated between intense distorted rock sound, to a more ambient clean sound, with variations of tempo in between.
• Some singles as well such as KIKO, Kind etc.

A striking fact about Plini is his guitar. plini uses a bare stock Strandberg guitar. These guitars need not be manually tuned. Recently he came on a tour to India and played at a number of places. It was only natural for me to visit when came to Bengaluru, on 6th of March. It was one heck of a night !
